2015.04.10: The 9-meter-diameter aluminum forging ring for Long March rockets was successfully manufactured by CHALCO Southwest Branch, the largest of its kind in the world so far.
2015.06.17: Chalco disclosed information on its non-public offering and released its statement of changes in equity, marking a successful end of its three-year long non-public offering of A share.
2015.07.08: Chalco ranked 33 in Fortune China 500 in 2014.
2014.01.17-18: The result of the project of 600KA Large-Scale Aluminum Potline, which reached world class level, was accepted by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
2014.07.14: Chalco ranked 27 in Fortune China 500 in 2014.
2014.08.16: Southwest Aluminum Co., Ltd. successfully developed extra-large-size aluminum plates of 11 meters for aviation use, filling a gap in domestic industry.
2014.10.20: Ge Honglin was appointed as Chairman and Party Secretary of Chinalco at the managers’ meeting.
2013.01.01: Chalco was rated as Class A taxpayer.
2013.1.30: Chalco released its corporate culture report, covering ten core values, ten management principles, six expected behaviors, six working guidelines, and six corporate protocols.
2013.03.22: Chalco signed memorandum of understanding with United Company RUSAL.
2012.11.14: Chinese Academy of Social Sciences published the Blue Paper of Corporate Social Responsibility 2013, and Chalco ranked one of the top 20 in China Corporate Social Responsibility Index 2013.
2012.05.23, 25: Wei Jianxing, former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Chairman of All-China Federation of Trade Unions, paid two visits to Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd.
2012.06.16: Southwest Aluminum Group Co., Ltd. was the supplier of major aluminum alloys and components of Shenzhou IX Spacecraft.
2012.09: Chalco’s enhanced Bayer Process and its industrialization was recognized as a world class technology.
2012.11.22: Chalco won the award of the Most Influential Company Listed Overseas of China Securities Golden Bauhinia.
2011.03: The annual production of alumina of Chalco reached one million tons for the first time.
2011.04.08: Chalco signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Sapa Group in Beijing on special aluminum profiles for rail transport.
2011.07: Chalco was awarded by Fortune as the Most Innovative Chinese Company in 2011.
2011.10: Chalco Guangxi Branch was recognized as one of the first batch of China’s Demonstration Bases for Comprehensive Utilization of Mineral Resources.
2011.12: Chalco was awarded the Demonstration Company for the application of CAS General Purpose Taxonomy.
2010.09.07: The newly-structured smelting cell, a revolutionary breakthrough which took CHALCO Zhengzhou Research Institute six years to develop, was recognized as a world class S&T achievement by China Nonferrous Metals industry Association.
2010.11.16: The Demonstration Project of Industrializing the Automation System of Alumina Production of CHALCO, undertaken by CHALCO Shanxi Branch, received the award of National Demonstration Project of industrialization of New Technology.
2020.11.24: Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Vice Premier Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, accompanied by ministerial leaders, visited CHALCO exhibition booth at 2010 China Green Industry and Economy High-Tech Expo.
2009.01.17: Vice Premier Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, paid an inspection visit to CHALCO Lanzhou Branch, accompanied by Lu Hao, Secretary of Gansu Provincial Party Committee, and Xu Shousheng, Governor of Gansu Province.
2009.02.17: The Managers’ Meeting of Chinalco was held in Beijing by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. Vice Minister Wang Ersheng announced decisions made by CPC Central Committee and State Council on senior executives of Chinalco that Xiong Weiping took the place of Xiao Yaqing as President and the Party Secretory of Chinalco.
2009.04.16: Liang Guanglie, member of the CPC Central Military Commission, state councilor and Defense Minister, went on an inspection visit with an inspection team to CHALCO Southwest Branches.
2008.01: Chalco was awarded as Star Entity of Public Welfare by China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, and China Women’s Development Foundation.
2008.06.27: Chalco received the Golden Bull Award for Top 100 Listed Companies.2008.07.31: Wang Zhaoguo, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Chairman of All-China Federation of Trade Unions, paid an inspection visit to Northeast Light Metals Co., Ltd.
2007.01.25: Chalco received the award as the Most Influential Company in 2006 from China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association.
2007.04.30: The A share issuance ceremony of Chalco was held in Shanghai Stock Exchange.
2007.05.29: The awarding ceremony of the first Chalco-Central SOEs’ Youth Innovation competition was held in the Great Hall of the People, co-organized by the Youth League Work Committee of Central SOEs, Youth Federation of Central SOEs, National Office for Science& Technology Awards, and China Enterprise Confederation.
2006.05.09: Baotou Aluminum Co., Ltd was listed in Shanghai Stock Exchange, and it became the first IPO in government-regulating industries since IPO was restarted.
2006.10.13: Business Week, a magazine with global influence, published the first rankings of publicly-traded Asian companies. Chalco ranked third among the six Chinese companies that made it into the Top 50 publicly-traded Asian companies.
2006.12.12: Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, went on an inspection visit to CHALCO Guizhou branches.
2005.01.17-18: Chalco held the working conference of 2005. Huang Ju, Vice Premier and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, gave important instructions and spoke highly of its work.
2005.06.28: China’s first world-class hot rolling production line was put into use, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in CHALCO Southwest Branch.
2004.01.02: Vice Premier Huang Ju, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, visited CHALCO’s branches in Guizhou Province.
2004.04.30: Guo Shengkun was assigned to the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Xiao Yaqing was appointed as President and Party Secretary of Chalco.
2004.06.07: the 2003 Annual General Meeting of Chalco was held in Beijing. The new board of directors consisting of eight directors was approved at the general meeting of stockholders. New directors were: 1) Executive directors: Xiao Yaqing, Xiong Weiping, Luo Jianchuan, Chen Jihua. 2) Non-executive directors: Chen Xiaozhou, Joseph c. Muscari. 3) Independent non-executive directors: Zhao Zhichang, Wang Dianzuo. The second board of directors of Chalco convened its first general meeting, and elected Xiao Yaqing as Chairman and CEO of Chalco.
2003.05.15: Vice Premier Huang Ju, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, visited CHALCO Southwest Aluminum Group Co., Ltd.
2003.09.13: Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, visited CHALCO Qinghai Branch.
2003.10.26: Jia Qinglin, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of CPPCC National Committee, visited CHALCO Guizhou Branch.
2002.02.24: Chalco was included in HS composite index, effective since March, 1, 2002.
2002.04.14: The board meeting of Chalco was held in Beijing, chaired by Guo Shengkun, Chairman, President and CEO of Chalco, and attended by Liang Zhongxiu and Xiong Weiping (senior executive directors), Wu Weicheng (director), Wang Dianzuo and Zhao Zhichang (independent director), and Ding Haiyan (secretary of the board).
2002.05.22: The CPC General Secretary Jiang Zemin made an inspection visit to CHALCO Southwest Aluminum Group Co., Ltd.
2002.05.25: Chinese Vice President Hu Jintao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, went on an inspection visit to the production site of CHALCO Qinghai Branch, and convened a meeting for discussion.
2002.07.01: Metal Bulletin published a list of top 30 global non-ferrous companies of 2001, and Chalco ranked 22, 5 spots higher than the previous year. It is also the only Chinese company in the list.
2001.02.07: Chinalco started asset restructuring and convened a conference on overseas listing, attended by delegates from China International Capital Corporation Limited and Morgan Stanley.
2001.02.20: Vice Premier Wu Bangguo debriefed Guo Shengkun, who’s responsible for Chinalco’s reorganization, about asset restructuring and overseas listing.
2001.08.16: The founding Conference of Chalco was held in Beijing.
2001.09.24: Extraordinary general meeting of Chalco was held in Beijing. Guo Shengkun, Chairman of Chalco, presided over the meeting. Participants included Liang Zhongxiu, Xiong Weiping (executive directors of Chalco), Wu Weicheng, Ding Haiyan (members of the board of directors), Li Henglong, Zhang Chengzhong, Chen Jihua (Vice Presidents of Chalco), delegates from China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Orient Asset Management Co., Ltd., China Development Bank, Guangxi Development& Investment Co., Ltd., Guizhou Resources Development& Investment Management Co. The meeting deliberated on and passed eleven resolutions, including those on the debt-for-equity swap of Chinalco, overseas listing of Chalco, and the new charter of Chalco.
2001.12.12: Chalco was formally listed in Hong Kong and New York.
